Your LinkedIn Profile Is Costing You Clients (Here’s How to Fix It)

Let’s get one thing straight: your LinkedIn profile isn’t your résumé.
It’s your sales page.

And if it still reads like a job application, you're leaving real money on the table.

Because today, decision-makers are researching you before they ever click “Connect.”

First Impressions Are Made in Seconds

Your headline?
That’s your hook.

It should tell me what you do, who you help, and the value you bring—all in under 220 characters.
If it says “Founder | Coach | Consultant,” congratulations—you sound like everyone else.

The people who win on LinkedIn are the ones who make it obvious how they help me win.

Example:

“I help overwhelmed service providers systemize their operations so they can scale without burnout.”

That gets attention. That makes someone stop scrolling.

Your About Section Isn’t About You

Read that again.

The most effective “About” sections aren’t a list of degrees or humblebrags about past titles.
They are a strategic narrative that walks the reader through:

  • The problem your audience is dealing with

  • Why typical solutions don’t work

  • How your approach is different

  • What life looks like after working with you

Think of it like a mini landing page—except it lives inside LinkedIn, and it works 24/7.

Don’t make people connect the dots. Spell it out.

Experience = Proof, Not History

Your job isn’t to tell people what you did.
It’s to show people what you achieved—and more importantly, what you can do for them.

You want metrics, stories, short case studies.
You want to sound like someone who solves problems, not someone who just did tasks.

For example:

“Helped a SaaS founder reduce churn by 37% by optimizing their onboarding process—using a 3-part framework we still use today.”

Now I know what you do, and that it works.

Content Is the Trust Builder

Let’s be real: people don’t trust instantly anymore.
They need to see consistency, clarity, and credibility.

That’s where your content comes in.

You're not posting to go viral—you’re posting to build belief.
Belief that you understand their problem.
Belief that your method works.
Belief that you’re the right person for the job.

Good content does three things:

  1. Educates (teaches something useful)

  2. Challenges (breaks a myth or false belief)

  3. Converts (invites a DM or next step)

LinkedIn isn't just a place to talk. It’s a place to position.

But What If You're Not a Writer?

Then talk.

Record short videos. Use carousels. Share client wins.
Repurpose from podcasts, interviews, or emails.

You don’t need to be a genius writer to create influence.
You just need to show up like someone who knows their stuff—and knows their audience.
